Pakistan's textile exports up by 10.34% in first fiscal quarter from July to September

According to the figures of Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics(FBS)being quoted in a recent news report on Pakistani Newspaper The Nation, during the first quarter(July to September)of the financial year 2011-2012, the country's textile exports reached US$3.19 billion, a year-on-year increased of 10.34% as compared to US$2.89 billion in the same period of 2010.
By product, the FBS figures showed that Pakistan's raw cotton exports went up by 668% in the fiscal quarter under review, while the country's cotton yarn exports declined by 1.47%. Its cotton cloth exports also rose by 12.05%, but its cotton carded exports dropped by 97.95%.
The country's exports of yarn, knitwear, bed wear and towels were up by 117.46%, 6.47%, 3.18% and 6.42% respectively, and those of tents, readymade garments, art silk and synthetic textiles rose by 228.01%, 15.3% and 18.63% respectively. Besides, exports of made up articles and other textile materials registered increases of 8.97% and 29.29% respectively, as compared to the same period of previous financial year, according to statistics of FBS.
